Wes Craven doing Scream 4?

YES, you heard right, Wes Craven is considering to direct a new sequel to Scream. This would be the fourth Scream movie in the series and Craven is asking the studio for a good script and money for him to consider to direct this movie.

Bloody-Disgusting.com gives us:

“It would take it being really as good a script as the first one was,” explaining that he should also be compensated for his work on the franchise, “and the pay day reflects what I’ve done for that company and what Ive gone through on Cursed (laughs).”

These movies are highly popular, and I am excited about this possibility of Wes Craven directing Scream 4. I am just getting tired of studios banking on older successful movies, why cant they come up with anything original?
