Nominated for Best Special Effects at the 2011 Asian Film Awards and stunningly choreographed by master Sammo Hung, this intricately plotted whodunit is set in an exquisitely realized steampunk version of ancient China. On the eve of her coronation as Empress (Carina Lau, “2046″), China’s most powerful woman is haunted by a chilling murder mystery: seven men under her command have burst into flames, leaving behind only black ash and skeletal bones. Recognizing this threat to her power, she turns to the infamous Dee Renjie (Andy Lau, “Infernal Affairs,” “House of Flying Daggers’): a man whose unparalleled wisdom is matched only by his martial arts skills. As he battles a series of bizarre dangers, he unveils a chilling truth that places his life, and the future of an entire dynasty, in peril.

Flypaper (2011)

Comedy

Coming Soon

Crime

Genre

New 2011

Adrian Martinez

Ashley Judd

Curtis Armstrong

Greg Germann

Jeffrey Tambor

John Ventimiglia

Matt Ryan

Mekhi Phifer

Octavia Spencer

Patrick Dempsey

Pruitt Taylor Vince

Rob Huebel

Tim Blake Nelson

Tripp Kennedy (Dempsey) ambles into a bank near closing time, just as two different gangs unwittingly converge to rob it. Over 26 years in prison could not crush the spirit of this determined African-American woman, despite the wrongs she suffered, first at the hands of a duplicitous boyfriend who beat her and forced her into prostitution, and later by prosecutors who used the threat of the death penalty to corner her into a life behind bars for her connection to the murder of her abuser. Her story takes an unexpected turn two decades later when two rookie land-use attorneys step forward to take her case. Through their perseverance, they bring to light long-lost witnesses, new testimonies from the men who committed the murder, and proof of perjured evidence. Their investigation ultimately attracts global attention to victims of wrongful incarceration and abuse, and becomes a matter of life and death once more.

If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front (2011)

2011

Crime

Documentary

Genre

History

On December 7th, 2005, federal agents conducted a nationwide sweep of radical environmentalists involved with the Earth Liberation Front — an organization the FBI has called America’s “number one domestic terrorism threat.” “If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front” is the remarkable story of the group’s rise and fall, told through [...]

On December 7th, 2005, federal agents conducted a nationwide sweep of radical environmentalists involved with the Earth Liberation Front — an organization the FBI has called America’s “number one domestic terrorism threat.” “If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front” is the remarkable story of the group’s rise and fall, told through the transformation and radicalization of one of its members, Daniel McGowan.
